No. Only the court could make that decision.
Only through a court order. It is assumed she has the mother's consent. If the father doesn't consent the grandmother needs to petition for guardianship and then show why the father is unfit and it would be in the best interest of the child to be placed under the legal guardianship of the grandmother. She needs to consult with an attorney. Both parents would need to consent to a guardianship with the grandmother as guardian. If the mother doesn't want custody then the father would be the one with legal standing for sole custody. She needs to consult with an attorney. If paternity has been legally established, the father could petition for custody/ guardianship.
The answer depends totally on whether or not you were married to the child's mother. Any child born to a married couple is considered to be the legal child of the husband until proven otherwise. HOWEVER, if you were NOT married to the child's mother, then you have no legal rights, even if you are the father. An unwed mother who has a child is considered the sole legal parent of that child in most states. Even if you were proven to be the father - you have no legal rights without going to court , if you were not married.
Your father's maternal grandmother is your great-grandmother.
In cases where the biological parents are not married the law presumes that the mother has sole custody rights. The father would have to establish paternity to the satisfaction of the court before custody, visitation or child support issues could be addressed. In cases that pertain to a child born in a marriage both parents are assumed to have equal rights until the court rules otherwise. If one parent filed for sole custody the other would be notified and would have the legal right to contest the action.
Your father's grandmother is typically referred to as your great-grandmother.
Paternal grandmother. Paternal = of the father, maternal = of the mother.
Grandmother. "Brother", "uncle" and "father" are all male. "Grandmother" is female.
Queen Elizabeth II is the mother of Prince William's father, Prince Charles. She is the grandmother of Prince William.
Your father's auntie is your great aunt. Just like your father's grandmother is your great grandmother.
