Geckos do not enjoy "cold" weather, they come from warm - hot climates across the globe. Geckos that come from New Zealand and New Caledonia can withstand temperatures as low as 17 degrees Celsius.

Where geckos originate from there are winters but no snow is present. but there are shorter hours of sunlight and during these times, they would be alot more mellow to take in as much heat as possible. They also noticably cut back on how much they eat.

They will ONLY hibernate in the cold, that's the point in hibernation they do it in winter so that they don't use up their food suplys, just make sure it doesn't freeze to death
