Flat ironing CAN kill nits and nymphs. Yes it can dry the hair out a bit but it also depends on the texture and integrity of the fair to start with. I'm a hair dresser and have been for 12 yrs. My.daughter has gotten lice 2 times. I'm not willing to put a pesticide chemical ridden lice shampoo on her head, so I first suffocate the live lice with mayo, shower cap her hair and let it sit for 2 hours. Shampoo 4x or so with a tea tree shampoo. i like bumble and bumbles tonic shampoo. I detangle with bumble and bumbles tonic leave in spray (which I just learned from a bumble rep with deter any re-infestations with daily use due to the tea tree oil). O lightly blowdry then with the hair still mostly wet I flat iron on the highest settibg. PLEASE BE CAREFUL as the steam can burn the scalp. My trick is to blow on the hair as im ironing close to the scalp. Nay sayers will say Omg you're damaging her hair...... but I'd rather live with slightly dry lice free fair that can easily be treated with a conditioning treatment then dry possibly not lice free hair which was treated with harsh chemicals and pesticides. This is a personal preference that worked for me. I back the flat iron 100%
yes. but it would be very stupid to stick a hot curling iron on your head. it would be incredibly dumb to try this but it would only take care of the ones that have already hatched you would still have the eggs attached to the strands of hair best thing to use is a lice killing shampoo and comb you need to comb to get the nits
Yes...Takes a couple of days but if you beat yourself round the head hard enough it will kill the headlice. Either by you realising how stupid you are & going to chemist or by killing yourself which in turn kills the parasites... nb it can be hot or cold no steam required!
Yes it can. If you need more information type in the question
Can you kill head lice and the eggs with a flat iron?
It helped.
No sorry, there are some things you can try at home like putting mayonayse in your hair for 3o mins and put a shower cap on over it and after the 30 mins take a shower and it will most likely be gone.
yes because it fries them!
Yes, lice can only tolerate temps up to 120-140 degrees. That is why running your clothes, towels, bedding through the dryer for 20 minutes or more is so important to ridding yourself of this pest.
My flat iron heats up to 245 degrees on its highest setting and has given some relief with just one treatment. However, the iron can only get within 1/16 or so of the scalp so repeated daily treatments, along with using a nit comb, Denorex Extra Strength Shampoo (the active ingredient kills the adults) helps.
As the live eggs are attached 1/2 or closer to the scalp it can get many of them. But, repeat, repeat, repeat for several weeks and then stay vigilent checking daily so as not to get reinfested.
Also, use a black light in a lightless room to see where they are. This will show the live eggs, etc., so you can target those areas harder. Lastly, make sure to do from root to tip if the hair in small sections taking care not to burn the scalp.
yess but not at allmuch help it does burn a few eggs. You should use kp24 it is veryy effective and the best killer of lice out there.
No. There is an over the counter treatment you can buy for lice.
Yes because the lice does not like heat
Shelly thought Luno killed Lice Peeking.
First... vinegar does not kill lice. Use a proper lice shampoo.
yes if you care for your hair
Alcohol does not kill pubic lice. They must be killed with insecticide.
It will; the problem is that most of the nits are so close to the scalp as are the lice, that one would end up burning the scalp to get to the lice. Try to find a reputable lice removal service in your area. Most use a safe and effective manual removal method and many offer guarantees as well.
Yes you can a friend of mine got lice when she shared a ponytail.
No, the lice would be killed off by your powerful stomach acid
For example lice and fleas.
No, but it will make your head feel tingly and possibly slightly irritated. Lice are complex parasitic insects that need specific anti-lice medications to be killed and destroyed. Also, it is extremely important to also get the nits, or lice eggs, off the person or killed, as these are often resistant to the medications that kill adults.
Mainly because lice often carry diseases. During and right after World War I, a disease called typhus killed millions of people, and it was primarily spread by lice.
