I think so.. I put in way too much today. I know right, I'm stupid.
I started it and it ran for like 10 seconds in idle before it stalled. I tried to start it again but no luck. It does turn over though.. so that's something.
I want to know if I wrecked my car.

No, but it is still not good to run an engine on low oil, the car will not stall, but it is good to replace the oil as soon as possible.

What would cause the engine oil pressure gauge to rise?

When the oil pressure guage is in the high position, it means you have good oil pressure. As your car warms up, the pressure should drop a little. The guage will usually drop at stop signs and stop lights and then go up as you accelerate. If your guage goes to high and stays there, you could have a problem with your sending unit or you could have too much oil in the car.

How often does a 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo need an oil change?

The answer to your question depends on what type of oil you are currently using in your vehicle and how big said engine is. I have a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, with an 8-cylinder engine. If your engine is also 8-cylinder, on average (depending on the size of the engine) it could take approximately 8 quarts of oil (when in doubt, always consult your car's/truck's manual). If you are using conventional motor oil, you should change it every 4-5 months and/or every 5000 miles - whichever comes first. If you are using synthetic blend or full synthetic, which has less viscosity breakdown, it can last up to twice as much time, depending on the quality of the motor oil. I am not too given to brands, and you can probably do an internet search on it, but arguably the best is Mobil 1. I learned early that if you are going to go cheap, you should go cheap on gas but not on the oil you put in your car/truck.

Why would a vehicle lose power after running low on oil?

If you ran it out of oil, you may have locked up the engine. It needs oil for lubrication. No oil...no engine.

What happens when you don't change your oil?

I am not a mechanic, but I know that oil gets dirty over time and it can gum up the engine. It looses it's "body" and quits working as it should. All of the things in your engine need a lubricant to work properly. I get my car serviced every 5,000 miles.

Why does your 1994 Chrysler Lhs oil light on and the engine is knocking?

When the oil light is on, it means you have low oil pressure. This can be caused by low oil level. When you first start the car, the oil light will come on momentarily, then turn off to signify that proper oil pressure has been reached. An engine knocking usually indicates that the engine is about to stall.
