minecraft is compatible with Mac and Windows so all you need is the IP address of the server you want onto.
Something similar to this:
86.13.162.63 -OR- 70.112.171.131, etc.
The IP address the other computer connects to the internet with. They have to tell you, you can't just guess. The Port #25565 might also be required.
So the whole thing might be "86.13.122.36:25565".
Yes
On the Minecraft download page, you can download a Vanilla (standard) Minecraft server for Windows, Mac, and (I think) Linux.
You should be able to go onto any bodys server thats hosted on a Mac or Windows, with any Mac or Windows machine. Minecraft is cross platform compatible. (Mac and Windows). You just need their "outside" IP address.
Providing everyone is connected to the same game on the same server it will not matter which computer they are using.
There is no difference in game play between any Mac game and a Windows game.
The most efficient way t host a minecraft server is ... Sorry but get Windows.
Go into google and type in minecraft version changer and download it. It's for windows and for mac. Its completely legal and gives you ANY version of minecraft server.
Minecraft can be played on:Microsoft Windows PC/LaptopApple Mac PC/LaptopXbox360Xperia Play
No matter what computer the host uses, you still should be able to connect.
Use the hamachi server.

Just go on the file where you saved your server on and double click the file and you will find a file that is called minecraft_server.exe or minecraft_server.jar .jar is for mac, .exe is for windows
Yes. There are games available for both platforms that support online gaming. Depending on the game, however, it is not always possible to play with the Mac and Windows version on the same server.
