No. They are distinctly different approaches and have different training and scope of practice. A massage therapist works on the soft tissues of the body to help alleviate pain and improve posture and function. A physical therapist works to rehabilitate an injury that was first managed by medical intervention.
However, some therapists are trained to do both. This requires two separate licenses in most states, and more often than not, attending 2 different schools.
Well a message therapist uses messages to help you and a physical therapist uses physical exercises to help you.
Massage therapy is only indicated if prescribed as treatment by the physical therapist.
I am sorry, but (therapist) is no longer working for us; we do have another therapist who can treat you, if you wish.
Depends in what state and how popular the PT is, and if you can take those clients and massage them at home as well. 34-50k
A massage therapist in Florida needs a license to practice massage, regardless of the setting. Please follow the link for more information.
A person can have a great career in the therapy field. Some jobs that a person can get in this field are, a physical therapist, occupational therapist, massage therapist, or a counselor.
try physical therapist . Not quite sure if 'doctor, chiropractor and massage therapist is one person.' But I go to Evocare Center for Physical Health and think Dr. Spallone is the best chiropractor in Denver (in Lakewood) and he has a discount massage center in his clinic with great therapists, so I think that may answer your questions.
A physical therapist needs to do the same thing as anyone else that wants to get a massage therapy license. They need to go to an accredited school and pass the state or national exam, then apply for a license in their jurisdiction.
sometime some of the massage therapist does body scrubs but not all of the therapist does it
well now, that would be illegal wouldn't it? you can't because a massage therapist (which is a certification) does not equal a physical therapist (which is now a doctorate degree). so that would be considered fraud. how can you appeal fraud? you cant. it's called severe fines and/or jail time. good luck with that smartie!
If you want to do massage therapy professionally you will need a license. There are different designations in different parts of the country and in different states. You may be a licensed massage therapist (LMT), a certified massage therapist (CMT), a licensed massage and bodywork therapist (LMBT), or just massage therapist.
