This really depends on the people involved. Yes, it is certainly possible to be friends with benefits, and engage in sexual intercourse without falling in love. However, this is usually much harder for women because they attach more emotional feelings to sex than men do, which makes it very difficult to separate sex and love.
Overall, I would not recommend this type of relationship. Sex is something special that should be shared between two people who love each other.
