Yes. The re-refinement process includes dehydration to remove moisture, filtering to remove fuel, dirt, etc. Once cleaned up the used oil enters the final phase, hydrotreating, just as the new oils do.
An example of a recycled/re-refined oil is Valvoline NextGen which contains 50% recycled oil.

Unlikely that there would be any filters available to the general public that could clean it enough to be used again. It would be nice as motor oil does not wear out, it just becomes dirty. It can be re-refined which would be impossible at home.
It was 20 cents a gallon in 1955. Not only that, I could get a quart of re-refined motor oil for 10 cents if I provided my own container. It was called bulk oil and they pumped it out of a 55 gallon barrel.
The oil pressure sender is located on the front of the engine. it is on the drivers side of the oil filter mount assembly , just over the starter motor. The starter motor is not in the way to re/re the sender unit.

Short of re-refining it there is no good way to break the long molecules of motor oil into the size that makes diesel fuel. You can add small amounts of motor oil to diesel fuel and it will burn but it is not recommended.

The main advantage is to re-use (re-cycle) the cooking oil again, which saves having to buy new cooking oil. jack up the front end of the car if you do not have a vehicle hoist, on the left side of the vehicle is the oil pan, there will be a 14mm bolt in this pan,unscrew this plug to drain oil the existing dirty oil, to the front of the oil pan on the bottom side of the motor in between the radiator and the motor is the oil filter, use a filter wrench to unscrew it and screw a new one back on but be sure to lubricate the rubber seal on the new filter and also check and make sure the old rubber seal is still on the old oil filter. once done put the oil drain plug back in and lower car down, throught the oil filler cap pour in 4.2 liters of 5W30 and re-install oil cap. run motor for 1 minute and check level with dipstick
Buy a new oil pan gasket and a good one like rubber or neoprene not a cheap o cork one drain your pan remove the bolts holding your pan to the motor remove the old gasket use a small amount of high temp silicone to hold the gasket in place and replace the pan on the motor re tighten the bolts fill with oil and your on your way
