according to Islam there is two kind of marriage: standing and temporarily. (but some sunni sects does not recognize temporarily marriage or have different names for temporarily marriage) and a Muslim man can have up to 4 standing wife. but it has difficult terms and the man should provide welfare for all of them and treat them equally and usually only rich Muslims can meet terms.
