I am a 13 year old with ADHD. I do fine in school but I take Adderall to keep me focused, even without my pill I can still control myself and stay focused, but at the end of the day I tend to fall apart. So to answer your question your child can have adhd and be fine in school. hope this helped.

Age 2 is way too young to determine if a child is really ADD or ADHD. The testing required for that is only reliable on a child age 6 and older. Please wait until your child has had at least one year of school (Kindergarten not preschool) to have him/her tested.

Yes because you can't be certain that someone has ADHD without a definite test result. Some people are just naturally more "hyper" than others, but still able to function fine.

As a parent of an ADHD child and a psychiatrist I would say that most children should not be taken off of the ADHD treatment for the summer. There are studies showing that children need to be able to focus to be able to attend to facial expressions and learn to understand how their behavior or choices impact other children. Untreated children, especially boys, may not learn appropriate social behavior. As strattera cannot be used "as needed" the way stimulant can, it would have to be restarted weeks before school starts anyway.
