It mainly depends on the type of phone you have, but it is not dangerous.
The legal age at which a minor can leave school varies by state, but typically it is around 16 years old. However, some states require minors to attend school until they are 17 or 18 years old. It is important to check the specific laws in the state where the minor resides.
You just ask her, if she don't give you the phone number, keep asking her until she give it to you.
Absolutely ! You're there to work - if someone NEEDS to contact you in an emergency - they can call the company's number. Besides which if the 'phone is not on' - there's no point in you having it on your person, since anyone needing to phone you wouldn't get through !

if you give it to them, and allow them to keep it, then yes they can. legally, no they can't. you could argue that they have no authority to confiscate your phone, and unless they bring the police into it then you won't hand your phone over. (the police would laugh at your school if they called them by the way). if they take your phone without consent, that is theft. the real question is, is it worth the hassle, of arguing, and going to the principles office?
Keep your phone away from them? >.>
