Oxycodone is an orally administered opioid analgesic and doesn't cause a nystagmus of any kind. Opioids, if given intravenously can cause a very transient vertical nystagmus, but not horizontal.
If you are referring to myopia in the sense of intellectual short-sightedness, then no, reading a diverse amount of literature is one of the main cures of myopia. If you are referring to the visual disorder of myopia, then reading excessively can help to cause the disease, especially under poor light conditions.
My son has been taking Depakote and Lamictal together for 2-3 months and was just diagnosed with Nystagmus. I just started looking into this but when I get more answers I will post them.
No they can't. Contact lenses and glasses correct the defect to imporve vision but they are unlikely to affect the undelying cause of myopia.
Nystagmus can be classified depending upon the type of motion of the eyes. In pendular nystagmus the speed of motion of the eyes is the same in both directions. In jerk nystagmus there is a slow and fast phase.
Oscilopsia is the false perception that the surroundings are in moviment. The principal cause is acquired nystagmus so all causes of nystagmus can lead to this symptom. Oscilopsia can be confused with diplopia (double vision), blurred vision or vertigo.
