Hair was once thought to record evidence of drug ingestion like rings on a tree. Decades of research has shown that external drug contamination can penetrate hair when moistened and cause the hair test to incorrectly identify the individual as a drug user. For this reason among others, the United States governmental agency charged with drug testing oversight has refused to authorize hair as a method of drug testing. They have published their concerns in the Federal Register. Commercial entities, for obvious reasons, continue to promugate misleading information about hair testing reliability.

∙ 13y agoIt depends on how much has been taken in whilst around smokers and the time period between the inhalation and the test itself.
THC can remain the blood anywhere from 3-90 days depending on the potency of the cannabis, the amount smoked, the metabolism of the person in question, their weight and general fluid intake as well as other factors. It can be detected in your hair up to 180 days after inhalation. 30 days is usually the benchmark figure given for THC in the blood though that is hardly a true reflection of the complex interactions that affect the time period.
