However, if the drugs were prescribed for a previous condition, I would advise returning to your doctor, as you may no longer have a bacterial infection, it could be a virus, in which case penicillin V would not work anyway.

What he later noticed strikingly was an area of inhibition of the grown bacteria due to this fungus contamination! Fleming later concluded a chemical released from the fungus inhibited bacterial growth, by this he discovered penicillin!
