If shot from a BB gun, yes, especially to a smaller animal such as a cat or a rabbit. Death would be rare from a BB shot but it would definitely be painful (unless you were shooting at a bird in which case the bird would probably die). BB's could also be dangerous to an animal if they were ingested (eaten) as they are plastic and cannot easily pass through the digestive system of most animals.

Basically, airsoft guns are built to fire plastic 6 mm BBs. Even though several manufacturers recently pack CO2 magazine in their GBB (i.e. KJW), it still means to fire 6 mm plastic BBs. Airsoft gun with CO2 mags can fire metal BBs or glass BBs, but those kinds of BB will decrease the age of the inner barrel. You need to upgrade the inner barrel to fire metal or glass BBs.
