Can a rice cooker be used for multiple types of food?
Absolutely. A rice cooker is simply a steamer. You can use one to create a variety of one pot meals when in a hurry and also to steam vegetables, potatoes, fish, dumplings... Look for a rice cooker that comes with a steamer basket (not all of them do) for even more flexibility. Rice cookers can also be used to keep food warm.
