In most places, the police don't have the authority to do this independently. The state child protective service would have to get involved, and possibly the state's court system as well.

Can a parent be charged with kid napping if the parents are not divorced?

All depends on where you live. I live in England and around 12 years ago I did a runner with my two young children, my wife called round to my parents home to ask where I was and my parents did not tell her, so she called the police and they threatened to arrest my parents if they did not tell them where I was, after a while my mother told the police that I was still married to my wife (Even though we had been separated for several years) and the police told my parents "Thats a different matter then and that they will leave" but I needed to call to the police station with my children just so they could make sure that they was OK, I did this and it was fine. My wife took me to court a few months later but I won custody of my children and they have been with me ever since.

Could you get charged with child abuse if you spanked your child?

I don't think so because lots of parents use it as a punishment. But I still think that's wrong. Police probably know that parents spank their children. Beating children with a belt is another thing though! Boy! Some parents might not wip their children hard, but some do it so hard that their are scars on the child's butt. I think that their should be a law that parents can't beat their children with a belt.

What action should be taken when parents don't send children to school?

Where I live the police would be coming after the parents if it's pure laziness. If the child is bullied etc there would be a investigation since the schools are legally obligated to sort these things out and offer the student a education. I know some parents think that "school never did anything for me" but that is no excuse to not letting your children get a education. In the end parents are responsible for their children so sue them for child negligence.

Why does Parsons brag about his children?

Parsons brags about his children because he sees them as achievements that reflect his own success as a parent. He might also feel proud of their accomplishments and want to share that pride with others. Bragging about one's children can be a way for parents to seek validation and recognition.
