Putting an icepack on the bug bites will reduce the itching for a little while. This won't heal the bites, it just cools them down so they don't itch as badly. Oatmeal is very good for your skin. Make a paste by mixing a bit of oatmeal and water, and rub it on your bites. This will sooth the skin and reduce swelling a little bit, especially for mosquito bites. Aloe Vera, which is great for burns as well, can help reduce itching. If you have the plant, just break of a piece and rub the inside, gelatinous part of the plant on your bites. You can also buy aloe Vera gels in the store. Lavender reduces itching. Mix lavender essential oil with some vegetable oil or some water, and then rub it over your bites. *Don't* rub straight essential oils on your skin! They are too harsh, and you must dilute them a bit before you can rub them on your skin.
