I've installed them in freezing temps. before. There are some issues that arise, however. The first is blowing the nails through the shingle, unless you have them hand driven. Another is warping after the temp. rises in spring. Laminate ashpalt shingles become more labor intensive to cut to size. Lastly, if you experience high winds before they have a chance to seal together, you risk shingles breaking off. There are many underlayment products which will waterproof your building until better weather comes along.
