yes I have may types of chickens together the only way you shouldn't is if you have say old English game hens (small chickens) and road Island reds together (big chickens) if there is a size difference between your chickens the smaller ones could get in a sense beat up by the bigger ones. another reason might be if you have lots of roosters of diffrent kinds in there also (or just lots of roosters in general) because they fight and it will cause your roosters to hide

No! If you do this she will attack and kill the chick! She will know that is isn't her's because she could've felt it hatching and answered it's calls if it was her's. She will think that this chick will deplete her food sources for her and her own chicks so she will kill it. :-( It is best to just put eggs under your broody.

Broody hens really don't like company. They can become quite aggressive, however if the pen is large enough they will most likely ignore each other. Brood hens only leave the nest for food, water and defecation and are unlikely to bother each other.

No, the rooster just eats the chicken eggs.

They would be safer. Broody hens usually find a quiet place to hatch a clutch of eggs and raise their brood but the other flock members often chase and harm newly hatched chicks.

Typically, no. Having multiple roosters can cause stress on the hens - especially if there are not enough hens - and sometimes, roosters can be very aggressive and territorial.

Can you leave the rooster in the pen with mother and babies?

Usually the rooster will ignore the chicks unless he is a particularly aggressive male. The mother hen will guard the chicks but cannot keep them safe all the time. If you have space to separate them do so. If the birds are free range then you will have more problems from aggressive hens than from the rooster.

How does a rooster father a chick?

The rooster chooses a hen and approaches her in the yard. He will do a little side step dance, spreading his wings slightly and lowering his wings to touch the ground not unlike the position the hen must take for his mount. He will do this dance moving closer and closer until he can get close enough to grasp her neck feathers in his beak from behind. At this point the hen will take a position as close to the ground as possible allowing the rooster who is still holding her feathers to mount her back. He will place both feet on the hens "saddle" which is the area just above her tail. Most hens in their prime will have bare patches in this area because of the roosters attentions. The rooster, once he has gained his balance on the hens back will lower his vent or cloaca and the tail will lift slightly, the hen will lift her back end or cloaca at the same time and the cloaca will invert then both will touch. This is called the "cloacal kiss". A sperm sac will leave the rooster and enter the hens vent and then close up sending the sperm sac on it journey up the hens oviduct. Hen and rooster will not actually need to mate again for several days as there are enough sperm in each sperm packet to last for about 5 to 8 eggs. The rooster will dismount and the hen will shake, dust herself off and smooth ruffled feathers, then go about her daily hunt for food, while the rooster will immediately search for another hen and start the process all over.

Does the chicken have to be broody before you put the rooster in?

No. The rooster makes the hen's eggs fertile. From your question, it sounds like you want a hen to hatch some eggs. If so, some breeds or crosses are far more likely to go broody than others. Also, particularly if the chickens are in a pen/run rather than free ranging, a rooster will discourage broodiness rather than encourage it. A rooster also reduces egg production - in both cases its because he chases the hens a little to control them and mate with them, so egg production drops.

Will your other chickens and rooster hurt the chicks that will hatch in the pen?

Much of this depends on the breed, game chickens tend to be more aggresive. Chickens, like people, have individual personalities. You should never assume that ,because it is a certain breed, your chicks will be safe. Ideally, you would want to keep the roosters separate. If you must keep the rooster in the cage with the chicks I would recommend watching them closely for the first few days. Also , if a hen hatched the chicks she will most likely defend them.
