Sharks can only see in shades of grey.

Findings from a study by Australian scientists, released in September 2012, show that sharks' eyes have just one type of cone opsin - or light-sensitive proteins found in the photoreceptor cells of the retina - instead of thevtwo or more that are needed to see colour. Cone opsins are used to help animals see in bright light, and to differentiate between colours.

Sure they can. Shark's eyes are not indestructible. All species with eyes can suffer injury or damage to their eyes, optic nerves, or the part of the brain dealing with vision. Any of these can cause blindness

No sharks are not blind. You must have heard wrong. Sharks are only blind when they bite down on prey because a membrane goes over their eyes to protect them from the struggling prey.
