yes they can live in the same pen however if you are going to try to breed them i would suggest not.
No silky can not live with other chickens especially with a roster i know this because when i put my silkies in with my Colombians they almost killed each other and then the hens were not as friendly as they were when they were separated they were very tatorial after i put them together till this day they still try to fight through the been so i wouldn't try it on less your standing right there.
Yeah, mine does but since it's so delicate it gets pecked on a lot!:(I will agree with him if your chicken is delicate then you will have a lot of picking on and fighting so try to make all your chickens as delicate as possible.
No, chickens do not give live birth. They lay eggs, which are fertilized by a rooster before being incubated by the hen or in an incubator. After about 21 days, the eggs hatch, and the chicks emerge. This reproductive method is typical for birds and many other species of animals.
A group of chicks are called clutch or chattering.
The reason for dubbing dates back to Japanese times when they used game birds and when a rooster fights they grab on to each other by the crest or wattles and so the people would dub the so that the other rooster wouldn't have less of an advantage against the opponent. Today rooster fights are illegal in many places but people that live in cold places still dub their chickens(both males and females) as a precaution against the cold because the crest and wattles are not that thick and so they get frostbite easily. Those are the main reasons for dubbing chickens.
Chickens live almost everywhere. Chickens as a species are adaptable and can be raised anywhere and often where most other animals could not live. If you are referring to the American Piedmont stretching from New Jersey to Alabama then yes, chickens live in the Piedmont.
Ducks can live among the chickens. It will be subject to the pecking order and may get some abuse from the rooster. Any new bird introduced to the flock is exposed to some aggression. Ducks don't roost like chickens so will not be competing for roosting space. You should allow the duck access to water.
If he's a good rooster to the ladies, he gets to live with them in the coop or run. But, a bad rooster lives in the stew pot.

can you have live chickens in slidell louisiana
Yes, it only takes a few days for the chickens to know where they live. The rooster will call the hens home before dark if you have one, but they almost always find their way to the coop even without a rooster calling them home. When new hens are introduced to the flock they sometimes try to roost outside the coop the first night until they are used to the pecking order (who sleeps where).
