IF the kerosene doesn't have the red dye added to it you can add It makes it burn a little hotter. should not harm the engine.

Can Kerosene be added to diesel as it is clear as water Can It be added it to diesel truck at fill up meaning one gal Kerosene plus twenty Gal diesel fuel to help clean the injectors?

Check the related links. It appears Kerosene can be safely added to diesel. In fact, Kerosene is often used to "de-gel" the Diesel fuel in those cold winter months. Note: Many of the "Gas" (of "Fuel") Treatment bottles on the auto-parts store shelves contain "Kerosene" - most advertise as such "Contains Jet Fuel!" or some such....but truly it's marketing hype. To further expand on this, no, I wouldn't suggest adding straight kerosene to your diesel fuel....instead, go to an auto-parts store, and find a Fuel Treatment safe for Diesel Fuel/Engines. Or, optionally, look up "Sea Foam" - it's an engine oil, intake cleaner, and fuel stabilizer, works for Gasoline and Diesel engines...since you are wanting to clean Fuel Injectors, I _think_ this may be the answer to your question.

What type of fuel can be used instead of diesel in some cars?

Only diesel should be used but in a pinch or emergency kerosene can be used. Diesel is usually number 2 fuel and kerosene is #1 fuel. By the way jet fuel is kerosene. So dont use it in a diesel to often, the higher octane rating could damage the engine over time.

What are some types of fuel that come from petroleum?

kerosene, gasoline, fuel and gas

How close is diesel to kerosene?

Diesel and kerosene are quite close chemically. Kerosene has some heavier paraffins and would clog the injectors of a diesel engine.

Can you use kerosene instead of diesel?

A diesel engine will run fine on kerosene. If you are going to run it on kerosene for an extended amount of time you might want to put some lubricant additive in with it. Winter diesel is various blends of diesel and kerosene. In the UK you may wish to think about the tax implications, road fuel carries a higher duty and using kerosene(domestic heating oil) in a vehicle would be tax evasion.

What is the chemical composition of Jet fuel?

Jet fuel is basically just high grade kerosene, with some iceing & microbiological contamination inhibitors added.

Can kerosene be used in place of diesel in a boiler What are the technical points that have to be looked into Any technical changes required?

Kerosene is generally similar in nature but slightly more volatile than diesel. The flash point of kerosene is generally lower by about 30°F. Kerosene also has a true vapor pressure specification (TVP= vapor pressure at 100°F) while diesel has none. Kerosene also has a smoke point specification while diesel has none. Smoke point is height of a flame in millimeters that burns without causing smoking. Finally kerosene has a freeze point whereas diesel has a pour point and cloud point; however, the freeze point of kerosene is generally much less than either of the latter in diesel. Given all of the above I think you will generally be okay burning kerosene in a diesel fuel boiler. Kerosene will actually work better than diesel if you happen to be starting up in a very cold environment. The optimum flame height may slightly different. This could be adjusted by altering the flow rate of fuel, but of course generally the flow rate is dependent on some other need. As mentioned above kerosene is more volatile than diesel so be careful when handling/storing the fuel. If this is to be done on a permanent basis consider moving the fuel storage tank further away from any structures, etc.

Can kerosene be used in a diesel truck for fuel?

Long-winded answer... There are two kinds of fuel oils: No. 1 and No. 2. No. 1 fuel oil is thinner so it flows easier in cold weather, but it doesn't lubricate as well. We used to call this "winter diesel." Kerosene is No. 1 fuel oil that's gone through an extra refining step because a lot of the things people use it for--kerosun heaters, for instance--you don't want impure fuel stinking up the place. But basically, you can put K1 kerosene, No. 1 heating oil, No. 1 diesel or any No. 1 fuel oil in a diesel engine interchangeably. Most guys who do it will add some No. 2 diesel or some lubricating oil to it to keep their fuel injection systems in good shape. It's also untaxed, so don't run it on the road. Theoretically you could use it as reefer fuel if you put some oil in it, but you wouldn't--you'd just use diesel.

What is a type of fuel?

There are numerous types of fuel, depending on what the fuel is used for. Some of them are: Coal Gasoline Butane Natural Gas Ethanol Wood Oil Alcohol Kerosene Hydrogen Diesel

How is diesel fuel produced?

When oil is "refined" they heat it until it vaporizes. The vapor goes up a cooling tower and at various temperatures different parts of the vapor condense. Some fractions are called gasoline, some kerosene, some diesel oil. The stuff on the bottom is called tar.

What fuel do they use in Great Britain?

For heating houses they use electricity, natural gas, oil (kerosene), and LPG. For cars they use petrol, diesel and there are some hybrid vehicles, but not many.

How do you start a f350 diesel that ran out of diesel?

Either manually pump fuel from the fuel tanks to the fuel filter, or else open up the fuel filter, and pour some diesel fuel directly into it.
