If you have no information the other party involved in the accident and there was no police report filed you are pretty much out of luck as your insurance company will need information about the other driver to process a claim.

UK Fully comprehensive insurance should cover this. Read the small print. You will likely have to pay the excess and your unprotected no-claims could suffer. If the other vehicle is found to be At Fault and the driver is uninsured, there is a fund in UK that covers such auto accidents too.
