Yes, they can.
Normal sound waves (the curvy kind) are called sinusoidal, because when graphed, they use equations with the trigonometry function sine.
However, sound waves can also be triangular (pointed instead of normal curves), square (flattening at the top or bottom of the curve), or "sawblade" which is shaped like a saw blade.
You can listen to examples of each of these on the wikipedia page for "non-sinusoidal sound waves" which I don't have the link for not but its pretty easy to find.
Ocean waves have a distinct sound that soothes a lot of people and can help people sleep. They make a sort of whooshing sound and almost sounds like the wind mixed with water.
Sound waves Radio waves Microwave Visible light X-rays Y-rays
Sound waves are what make up sound (sound waves=sound) so I would suppose so.
Sound waves are longitudinal waves; they travel from side to side, not up and down like transverse waves.
surface waves can only travel along the surface.
why sound waves are different than most
They don't necessarily have a shape.
Pinna
They travel at different speeds.
they are different because these waves can travel through empty space
It means explain how electromagnetic waves are different than water and sound waves.
Light travels in waves, and sound travels in waves. However, sound waves and light waves are very different, and it is important not to confuse the two. Light travels in electromagnetic waves, and sound does not. Sound waves are caused by vibration.
ocean waves have to do with water and sound waves have to do with sound
I think you are confusing something. Sound waves, and electromagnetic waves, are two different types of waves.
Sound wave.

Different types of waves move in different patterns. Ocean waves move in a circular pattern while sound waves move in a sinusoidal pattern.
