If a statue moves its not a statue therefore no statues don't move.
Depends which statues do you mean? Some statues you can't move after you move them to the side so you can get in someplace. Actually I believe you cant move any of the statues back actually. I beat the game a while back so I'm trying to remember. The statues where you use the magic wand you don't really move them back because you use them to open other doorways so you can get out. If you die or something then the statues will go back to the place they started but that's pretty much it. So basicly you don't move the statues back, they stay there.

Counterfeit Island - the statues do not move.Super Power Island - dropping the gargoyle statues doesn't do anything.Nabooti Island - the small statues in the Sand Room are dropped by the switches that are underneath. You have to drop them in order, based on the number of dots on their bellies.(see related question)
Of course not, they are just statues, and the ones that move are actually people in costumes.
You can hide behind the statues until the lasers move away, then move quickly to another one, and finally to the door at the right.
you can move the statue by finding the stones and put them in order in green pupple red white and blue. Good luck ;)
