Being stressed can trigger a break out but it doesn't give you herpes. You get herpes from having intercourse with some on that has it (cold sores), or kissing some one on the mouth that has it.

YES. Stress is one of the most common triggeres for herpes. Lowered immune systems and illnesses can also bring on break outs.

With oral herpes (cold sores and fever blisters) you can get a break out by being in the sun or very cold weather for long periods of time.

Stress may lead to shingles but ultimately the virus that causes chicken pox causes shingles; usually in older people.
