Someone might be taking a lower dose antibiotic because too much of anything can, and will, be damaging. And it could be because, if it were prescription, the doctor didn't see it fit ti prescribe the higher dosage. But there are many more possible reasons than these two.

If you are treating a particular infection with an antibiotic the infection should be gone by the time the prescribed dose is finished. if it is not then the treatment should continue or be changed immediately.

I've been on depo before and this is my 2nd time around being on it and it stops my period for the three months and then I have my usual period and my shot then its gone again for three month.
