There are three numbers to think about when it comes to any registered motorcycle. The frame number, the engine number and the VIN or Vehicle Identifiaction Number. Look for these numbers in the paperwork and documents you got when buying the bike, then try to identify them on the bike itself. The old rule used to be, the engine number is only on the engine, the frame number only on the frame and the VIN number could be in several different places, on the frame, on the engine block or both. Rules differ a bit between countries or registration. If there is a Safety Certification Label on the bike then then the label for this is most often found on the left side of the motorcycle frame, as seen from sitting on the bike. Once you have found it, look for the VIN number on it.
