If you know the cheque you are writing is bad than you are committing a crime, Fraud. In some countries writing a bad cheque is a criminal offence. The bank will charge you for the cheque and you will get penalties. Also the person you wrote the cheque too will not get paid when the cheque bounces and they will come after you for their money + interest.

Can a bad check that's deposited in your account go through?

No. They cannot. A bad check is one that is either not signed or has expired or the signature of the check issuer doesnt match bank records or the account doesnt have enough money to pay for the check. In either case, the bank will never pay for a bad check and so, there is no way the check that was deposited goes through. It will be Rejected.

When divorced can I keep paying for my ex-husband life insurance?

That totally depends on your policy. If it is a work benefit, it might not be possible, so check with your benefits administrator. If it is a private policy, you can probably keep paying it, but check with your insurance man to see if there is anything you need to do regarding the policy. Better to check now than have a bad surprise later.

What does one do if a car insurance company doesn't give one their credit check?

Some car insurance companies do not do credit checks. And not receiving a credit check won't do anything bad. In fact, if one has bad credit or no credit and the insurance company does decide to do a credit check, that person might end up paying a larger rate.

What if you were send a check and check was bad?

If you send a check and it is bad, the consequences are going to be different depending on what you are sending the check in for. If you are paying a credit card bill (using this example because you put the question in the credit and debit card category) the check would be returned to your bank unpaid. The company you are paying may try to represent the check one or two more times and each time, your bank will charge you an overdraft fee, usually $5 to $35. The company you are paying will also charge you a late fee, bounced check fee and reverse the payment credit. If you are not yet late on your bill, you can just send another check that is good, or a money order and call the vendor (credit card company) you are paying and they will usually reverse the fee for you one time if it never happened before. If your ultimate payment arrives more than 30 days late, it will be on your credit report for 7 years as a late payment. This does not apply for the gas company or phone, although the late fees will. You can also call the credit card company or vendor you are paying and ask them if they will take a check by phone for payment. You can give them your routing number and account number over the phone and hopefully pay in time to beat the bad check you wrote.

Bank accepting a check for deposite is returned, where is reference that reflects that depositor of a bad check is liable for the return. The bank is an agent for it's customer; therefore customer is liable until check is paid.?

The banks have the rights to return bad checks and take the money deposited in your account beforehand. You need to deal with the people who give the bad check yourself.

What will happend if you stop paying for your house and move?

* Your credit rating gets really bad * The bank forecloses on the loan * The bank sells the house for as much as they can get * After taking out the legal costs, if there is any equity, they would send a check. * Reality is that they won't recover the balance and costs and will bill you for the rest of the amount owed.
