What are good wedding dresses to wear during the reception?

What is considered a "good" wedding dress to wear during the reception depends on the bride. Some brides prefer to wear the same wedding dress during the wedding ceremony and the reception. Other brides prefer to change into something different, often something that's easier to move around in as they may be going from table to table greeting guests and/or dancing a lot. A "good" wedding dress to wear during the reception is whatever suits the bride as far as style, comfort, and cost.

How do you have double wedding dress wedding?

In some cultures, it is common to wear different outfits for the wedding ceremony and wedding reception. The bride would change into traditional evening wear during the reception. As a professional wedding photographer, I have been to weddings where the bride (who is of Chinese heritage) has changed into several different traditional outfits during the wedding reception.

Does a bride wear her garter during her wedding ceremony or only during the reception?

Traditionally she'd wear it thru the ceremony (who has time to remember to put it on in between) and again - traditionally this is your 'something blue'..... Personally, I had two on. One as my personal keepsake and then the one to toss ....

Can a mother of the bride wear the same dress to the wedding and a week later to the reception in different colors?

First of all, congrgulations! And second of all, no. The thing is most guests at the wedding pay attention to not only the bride, but the intermidiate family of the bride as well. If it's a money issue then I suggest wearing an older dress to the reception. maybe a more comforatable one if there is going to be dancing. But at the same time it is the reception of the wedding and i suppose you could wear a different colored one. I sure no one will really pay huge attention. As long as you look nice. You should do different things with your hair at the reception tho b/c you don't want to recreate your look at the reception from the wedding. you can wear the same dress in a different color as long as you wear different accesories, hair, makeup and nails. I hope this helps

Is it proper for the mother of the bride to wear a red dress when the brides dress has a lot of red in it doesn't that take away from the bride?

No woman going to the wedding should wear the exact color of the bride. In the case of this bride wearing a wedding dress with a lot of red in it then it is fine if the mother wears a more solid color of dress or it will take away from the bride. The bride is the focal point and thus, the wedding party and female guests should not dress in the colors of the bride. This is up to you, the bride. Oftentimes, the bride will want the mother of the bride to wear a dress that is complementary to the colors of the wedding. In this case, the secondary color of your wedding dress is red. So, it is appropriate for the MOB to wear a solid red dress or a dress that has red tones in it alongside another color or colors. This really does not take away from the bride's dress or the bride herself.

Should you wear a different outfit to the church than to the wedding reception?

* Bride - The bride should come in with the groom to the wedding reception and be announced as Mr. & Mrs. _________. Then you will sit at the head table and there will be toasts given, etc. Dinner is generally served, then the dancing begins and bride starts off the dancing with her new husband. After that the bride will dance with her father and father-in-law and the groom will dance with his mother and mother-in-law. Once the bride throws her bouquet (at this time the groom may take the garter from his new wife's leg and throw it to the bachelors at the reception or it can be done later) then off the two go to another room at the reception hall and change. The bride may wear a dress or a suit depending on individual taste. It can be at this time that the groom take the garter off his bride's leg and throws it out to the bachelors at your reception.
