While it's not totally drought tolerant, it has a better than average ability to do in dry conditions.
It is helpful if you add mulch to your butterfly bushes for the winter. I have lost some by not doing so. The Black Knight butterfly bush has one of the darkest blooms, nice choice.
YES they do live in salt water
Yes.
I live on the coast of British Columbia and I prune the butterfly bush in early spring, by cutting it back to about 18" from the ground and it grows approximately five feet every year and blooms vigorously.
So little animals can live inside the bush, and big animals can't get them.
where does the midnight blue butterfly live
the warmer the climate, the sooner the leaves. you did not specify the area you live.
Pantodon Buccholzi is freshwater and comes from West Africa. There are also lots of species of marine butterfly fish (unrelated to the freshwater one) which live on Coral reefs in places such as the Red Sea, Egypt and other warm water reefs.
they live in the bush
A butterfly needs a cage with a screen that has MANY holes or else it can die and it need the type of food it eats and also a TINY bit of water and dirt. That is all i can think of!
Butterfly bush is a very hardy and woody shrub. It grows at a fairly fast rate if it's happy in it's environment. Ordinary garden soil should be fine. The old fashioned purple butterfly bush is very hardy and drought tolerant and blooms from spring on through late summer in either full sun or part shade. I have several varieties of butterfly bushes and find the yellow butterfly bush is the slowest growing. The old fashioned purple is about 5 years old is about 6-7 feet tall. The yellow is still the same height as when I bought it about 3 years ago. I live in the upper south and prune the butterfly bush in the early spring, about when the forsythia blooms. It seems to produce healthy, long lasting flowers and is a favorite in my garden with butterflies and hummingbirds. I think in good garden conditions, you'll see a moderately fast grower, about 3-4 in diameter, if not more.
No but Bush babies live in the bush and tree areas of East Africa.
