Can the church of the holy sepulchre bring you luck?

Christians do not generally believe in luck (or fortunaas it is in Latin). Actually, fortuna is an ancient Greek/ Roman philosophical concept invented to answer the question, "Why do good things happen to a person for no apparent reason?" For an ancient, the answer to that question would be either, "They just do," or "Because the gods are smiling on you." And often effort was exerted to dream up rituals to attract the fortuna of the gods if one was a believer, or if one was an atheist the effort was to attract positive fortuna which was sometimes thought to be a natural force.

The Christian finds all of this superstitious, but admits that good things, particularly religious good things, happen to people who clearly do not seem to deserve them. To a Christian, this situation suggests that God is all - powerful, and He favors whomever he pleases. The Christian calls God's unmerited favors or help Grace, and then generally point out that there is really nothing one might do to attract or merit the free gifts of God. As the song says, "Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me."

To answer the question: A Christian would say that the Church of the Holy Sepulcher could not bring one "luck", and the idea is naive, misguided, and an inadvertent insult to religion.

On the other hand, a non - Christian might decide (for example) that somehow the Church of the Holy Sepulcher represents Powerful Magic of some sort, and he or she wants to partake of the Powerful Magic. As long as the hypothetical non - Christian behaved himself when he visited the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, I don't think anyone would object to the visit
