not necessarily, only if the filter is completely clogged will it cause the engine not to start. this rarely happens suddenly. you would notice a sever lose of performance first.

If the fuel filter is clogged, or a new filter is installed backwards, it will prevent the fuel from reaching the combustion chamber and prevent the veficle from starting.
Yes if the filter is clogged with stuff
of coarse. All the filter does is its job filter the gas if its stalling the old filter could be stopped up. change it try that and see if it works. You shouldn't pump the gas its fuel injected your pump does all the work.
bleed the fuel and then start or manualy fill the new fuel filter and then try it
The fuel filter, on your 1993 Chevy 6.5 liter diesel engine, can be removed by turning the fuel filter to the left. The fuel filter will come off and can be replaced with a new filter.
The filter is on the carburetor ,the fuel line from the fuel pump connects to it. Remove the fuel line , using a wrench on the filter as well to keep it from turning , then remove the filter (steel) from the carburetor .
