Just shove it up you...
If you mean when the 240 replaced the 244 then I believe in the UK it was 1982 on a Y plate. If you mean when the 240 replaced the 144 then I believe it's 1974.
Which Volvo? It varies by model!
You have overfilled the engine with oil. 4 cylinder takes 3.8 quarts max. But when you add oil you should always check with the dipstick if the level is proper. In meantime you need to adjust the level properly because if you do not all your seals will have to be replaced.
Depends on the model. Some 960's have, instead of a dipstick, a little thing on the lower driver side of the motor towards the firewall down near the crankcase. Some 940's and 240's (and i'd assume 740's) have them near the back of the cylinder head
If a motor home oil dipstick won't go all the way in, it could be due to a few reasons. The dipstick may be misaligned or not properly seated in its tube, preventing it from fully inserting. Additionally, there could be an obstruction or damage in the dipstick tube itself. Lastly, ensure that you are using the correct dipstick for your specific engine model, as using the wrong one can also lead to fitment issues.
It doesn't have a dipstick for the automatic transmission - not since the 2002 model
"The 2012 model of the volvo (S60) is on the volvo website at $31,150 for the standard model. Used or older models will likely be marginally cheaper at your local dealerships."

To replace a broken dipstick, first, ensure the engine is cool and the vehicle is parked on a level surface. Remove any remnants of the broken dipstick from the tube, then purchase a compatible replacement dipstick for your vehicle's make and model. Insert the new dipstick into the tube until it is seated properly, and check the oil level to ensure it’s within the recommended range. Finally, discard any broken pieces safely.
