Yes a mechanical cam type fuel pump can leak out the breather hole on the bottom of casting of fuel pump
It could leak fuel. :)
The LDP (Leak Detection Pump) is located above the fuel tank. You'll have to remove the fuel tank to get to it.
A bad fuel pump will cause the fuel not to flow into the fuel pump. Another cause can be a leak in the fuel line.
Yes it can. If you look at the fuel pump you will see a medal plate that bolts to the engine block and the fuel pump sets against that plate. The plate and the fuel pump both have a gasket on them that stops oil from leaking out of the engine block. You also need to check the fuel pump, There is a small hole in the side of the pump that can leak oil out of it. If it is leaking you will need to replace the pump. Check the pump for oil leak while the engine is running.
The fuel pump diaphragm has broken. Needs new fuel pump.
Other than the tank rusting thruogh, I would expect the leak to be from the hoses at the fuel pimp or the fuel pump seal.
Look inside the car above the fuel pump for an access panel. If there is none, you will have to drop the fuel tank to fix the leak if the leak is at the fuel pump. You need to determine exactly where it is leaking.
It stands for leak detection pump. It is part of the evaporative emissions leak detection system. The engine computer uses the LDP pump to pressurise the fuel tank and check for vapor leaks.
vacuum leak or fuel pump Randy
The seal between the pump assembly and the fuel tank may be installed incorrectly.
Fuel Leak. Possibly the Fuel Pump. Get it checked immediately.
Ensure that the fuel Pump is PRIMED and also that the electical connections are good to it. If all is good there, check for a kink/leak across the lines.
