They can get along, but they don't get along as well as two male ferrets. Female ferrets, after they get spayed, are much more territorial than before they get spayed. If you are thinking of getting two ferrets, I suggest getting one male and one female. Of course, you should get them spayed and neutered, first.

It depends on the individual ferret. Some ferrets male or female might display dominance over other ferrets. Two female ferrets can be paired together especially if they are altered. Each ferret has it's own individual personality, so it may be questionable in older ferrets. Ferrets that are young usually readily accept one another. Female ferrets that are bred must be separated prior to giving birth.

Female ferrets have seasons. And in those seasons, it's not really about the male "attracting" the female. It principally involves the male ferret leaping on the back of the female ferret, biting her neck so as to hold her in place, and consummating the "relationship".

Can your two ferrets stay together when one gives birth?

It's suggested not to let ferrets stay together when having babies. Most female ferrets are very protective of their babies and need to be isolated about a week prior to birth in a dark, quiet, secluded area so she can prepare a nest. If the ferret feels threatened that her babies may be harmed, she might cannibalize them.
