I have been breeding dogs for over twenty years...I have known personally many old time breeders that used....used car oil to cure mange....just rub the used car oil on the dog and let it stay over night....you may have to do this once a week for two treatments but it works better than any other treatment and doesnt cost a thing....it will not hurt the dog....keep clear from the eyse of course..

Why does my dog shake bad when it storms or rides in a car?

Your dog is likely scared or very anxious. With storms, it is likely that he or she is afraid of the loud noises, and with the car it is likely that your dog has had bad experiences either during or immediately after a car ride before. Dogs have very good memories for these sorts of things. You should contact an expert on dog behavior and see if they can help you help your dog feel more comfortable in these situations.

Who knows about Demodex Mites human variety. Not the animal type. They are different.?

Demodex is a genus of tiny parasitic mites that live in or near hair follicles of mammals. About 65 species of Demodex are known; they are among the smallest of arthropods.Demodex canis lives on the domestic dog. Infestation with Demodex is common and usually does not cause any symptoms, although occasionally some skin diseases can be caused by the mites. Two species living on humans have been identified: Demodex folliculorum and Demodex brevis, both frequently referred to as eyelash mites. Both species are primarily found in the face, near the nose, the eyelashes and eyebrows, but also occur elsewhere on the body.In the vast majority of cases, the mites go unobserved, without any adverse symptoms, but in certain cases (usually related to a suppressed immune system, caused by stress or illness) mite populations can dramatically increase, resulting in a condition known as demodicosis or Demodex mite bite, characterised by itching, inflammation and other skin disorders. Blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelids) can also be caused by Demodexmites. There is some evidence linking Demodex mites to some forms of the skin disease rosacea, possibly due to the bacterium Bacillus oleronius found in the mites

Can a dog take meclizine for car sickness?

If your veterinarian prescribes this, yes, although it's a relatively new drug and the side effects and efficacy are not well described. The first-line drug used to help mediate motion sickness in dogs is Dramamine, although this will not work for every dog.
