Yes, they can get diseases from the diseases they haven't been vaccinated yet for, and they can also get a disease they've already been vaccinated for if they were due for another vaccination at the time they were infected. Even if they're healthy indoor cats they can still get diseases from outdoor cats but they might be less likely to get infected with a disease if they have a healthy body. Oh, and just so you know abortion stops a beating heart, so please support the awarness.

Does a cat live outside or inside longer?

Indoor cats usually live longer than outdoor cats because outside cats are able to get more diseases, rabies, or hurt/killed by another animal. Indoor cats are less likely to get diseases or get rabies, which is why it is incredibly important to vaccinate your cat when required, especially when it is allowed to be outside. Outdoor cats are also at risk of being hit by cars. A cat cannot outrun a car, and such incidents are very common.

How do you avoid myxomatosis?

There is vaccine available against myxomatosis, this can be given from 6 weeks of age and a booster vaccine should be given every 6 months to a year (depending on how common the disease is where you live). In the UK a combined vaccine containing myxomatosis and viral haemorrhagic disease has just been launched. Both of these diseases are usually fatal to rabbits and so vaccination is highly recommended. It is even recommended that indoor rabbits are vaccinated as both of these diseases are spread by flies and fleas (which obviously can bite indoor rabbits as well as outdoor ones).
