After installing a new fuel pump on a 1990 caprice how do you reattach that metal ring to the tank to finish the procedure?
that is a tricky metal ring (locking ring) there is a special tool for that.but if you are going to do this once no need to spend the money on a tool you will never use again. the trick is to get all the tabs started at the same time. there is an oring and you need to push the metal ring straight against the oring and turn clock wise until all the tabs catch. then get a chisel or screw driver and a hammer. there are outside tabs on the metal ring. tap them and turn the whole thing in clock wise.wala It is easier to fit the oring...if you will be sure the area is clean of any dirt and grit. Grease the area lightly on the tank, the area also where the oring contacts the tank, and the locking ring side to oring. Press firmly together, all tabs do need to be interlocked. Be sure oring is under and sealing. DO NOT STRIKE lock ring , to fit it in place. NO SPARKS.

How do you replace a water pump on 95 Cadillac Seville STS?
You will need the GM water pump remover tool, you can rent one from Auto Zone or a similar store. The water pump housing is the bottom radiator hose on the right side of the engine. remove the hose and the outer-caseing,there is a small hose to remove from the crossover pipe also the water pump is now slightly visable. then take the cover off the pump drive belt one blolt and two nut 10 mm use a 13 mm wrench on the tensioner to get belt off pump pulley before removing pump Use a 1/2 inch rachet with the GM tool and turn clockwise. this is not an easy fix the pump has a oring in side the casing the book says nothing about the back side of the pump i got a tube of permatex red i had to put a little on the oring to get it to stay then the back plate of the water pump about where the oring would touch a complete band around it also to remember the small noched ear on the pump goes right about 7 oclock in the whole keep the pump dead center of the whole push firm on it, i put a long screwdriver down the front side up against the pulley to keep the pump center so i could get the big scocket on correctly them keep presure on it as you pull back towards you counter clockwise you will feel it catch pull it till it stops after you take off the socket look on the side of the pump you will see the bent part of the clips are flat up against the slot blocks in the housing if all looks good reinstall cover make sure you change out the cover oring to after you take old one out clean surface real good then install the new cover oring. reattach all other hoses and bolts and nuts. don't put antifreeze back in for about an hour to make sure all sets up good luck i just put my put in on 02/07/2012 and it hasn't leaked a drop good luck. ps don't force the pump back into car if it dont go on the first, take it back out and do it again. good luck i got my pump at autozone for $47.00 lifetime warranty and the cover oring $4.00 and $30 dollar deposit for pump scocket the i got it back when i returned the socket

Just once it ran out? The '94 buick roadmaster uses an in tank fuel pump, and uses your cars fuel as lubricant for the fuel pump. There is a possibility when you ran out of gas, the pump was starved of it's lubricant and went kaput.

Under the vehicle, on the side of the transmission, there should be a plug that you can remove to chek/add lubricant. You should be able to stick in your fingertip to feel for lubricant. If lubricant is needed, you will need a siphon-type pump to transfer the lubricant from the container to the transmission. When the transmission reaches the level of the hole and starts to leak out, the transmission is full.

the head has to be removed in order to get the drive out all of the way, but the easy way is to cut a notch at the top of the drive where it hits the head to get to the oring while it is still in the block then slide the oring over the top (after soaking in hot water is easier) once you get the new oring on get a SBC dist. gasket, splice it and put it around the top of the drive, the get some RTV silicone and goop it up to seal the gasket back together, this way takes about 2-3 hours and is WAY easier than removing the head,

If its any thing like 01 zx2, the back seat comes out 2 clips holding it. there will be a plate with 4 screws, remove the screws. the pump is directly below. there will be 2 hoses and a retaining ring. retaining ring is a little difficut to get loose, i used a hammer and pucnch (not recommended). the 2 hosees have have plastic retaing clips, they just slide out, remove the hoses and the pump should come right out. replace pump sealing oring and assembly in reverse order.

Where is the fuel filter located on a 2000 Wrangler?
fuel filter is a strainer ( screen) in the tank- I just removed the filter pump regulator assy. from my 2000 wrangler with 112000 mi - what a disapointment. the engineers obviously had no practical education. the oring and plastic tube that connect the regulator to the pump are worn out. this lets the pressure in the fuel line leak out and causes hard starting- only fix is a new pump assy, 235.00 rockauto.com
