yes. one of two things causes this. either the ecu shorted out and is on fire inside. or oil from a sensor connected to the engine leaked into the wire harness and then into the ecu (actually happens ALOT)

Sounds like you have a blown headgasket or cracked head. The smoke and smell is likely the oil leaking from your broken engine and burning off.
If you can smell burnt plastic then you could potentially be in danger. Smoke from burning plastic can be harmful to breathe.
wisp of smoke curled in the air, carrying a burnt smell.

When you smoke it, it smells like burnt marshmallow, and coffee mixed.
sounds like your air conditioner compressor is bad.
Because the smell of the smoke spreads as the gas particles diffuse throughout the area where the sticks are being burned.
Check the fan motor itself. It may be shorting enough to cause it to run hot. the smell may by from the motor itself.

The main part of diesel fuel is kerosene, which produces thick black smoke, and gives that smell that is commonly associated with diesel. most likely if it is white smoke, it is antifreeze, if it has a blue tint to it, it is oil. the smell of burnt diesel is rather strong so it could cancel the burnt oil smell, or on the other hand it could be coolant, because burned coolant doesn't have a strong smell. I would check your coolant and oil levels, and check your coolant for having oil in it.
Delicious!! - Just kidding it kinda smells like burnt plastic. Pretty distinct smell that definitely makes you not want to smoke crack (unless your a crackhead).
White smoke means bad injector or blown head gasket. You can tell the diference by the smell, the head gasket small like burnt coolant, the injector is greasy horrible burnt kerosene small that makes you want to throw up.
