Yes. [1] Whether they're aquatic or terrestrial, gnats are attracted to moisture. [2] In terms of how they're grouped by scientists, they're members of the Nematocera suborder. They share that suborder with nematodes, many of which - such as knot and nitrogen-fixing nematodes - live off of plant roots.
I have a similar question concerning tree roots.. but it's MY tree. The tree roots are coming up in the front yard and cracking the floor in the garage (under house) wondered if Homeowners would pay toward having it removed because it is damaging the house.

Assuming the dryer hose is vented to the outside, the longer the distance the more likelyhood there is of a lint fire. If you are venting the dryer to under the house - don't do it. The warm air mixing with cold air will cause condensation and big expensive problems.
It depends on what kind of "gnat" you're talking about; there are many small insects classified under the name "gnat"... But generally gnats lay aprox. 300+ Eggs at a time, and are known to RAPIDLY reproduce at an incredible speed relative to how soon they are able to procreate after birth... Simply put--> 1 gnat [multiply] Time [account for environment/weather] [equals] [300+ gnats] [within hours/day{s}] add more time and you have an infestation...
