We cannot safely drink water from the ocean. If we drink it, it poisons our brains with all of its salt, and we die in a day or two. Luckily, ships and submarines have machines that takes the salt out of ocean water to make it safe to drink and wash up in. This way, they do not have to take large amounts of fresh water along with them when they leave the land. They just make their own.

∙ 9y agoNo, oceans contain salt water. A person must maintain a balance between sodium (salt) and other electrolytes. Because ocean water is salty, the person will die from drinking ocean water.
