They can carry salmonella, yes. This is much more common among the babies than the adults, though. Even if your turtle does carry salmonella, there's no reason you can't keep it. You just need to wash your hands after handling it. You should also wash your hands before touching it, too, as turtles can get sick from germs that humans carry.

90% of all reptiles do, but it is easily avoided by practicing good hygene. Always wash your hands after contact with their habitat or the tortoise itself.

Yes b/cause some turtles are wild and carry bacteria. Bacteria is salmonella. But is you keep yours clean it won't carry salonella.

well, i have heard that all reptiles have salmonella, but, i was researching that on the web and i have heard that you can cure it some how.
