Not if the loss or theft was reported to Sprint. Cellular carriers, including Sprint, maintain a list of the serial numbers of devices that have been activated on their systems. (Actually, they have the serial-number ranges of all the devices made for operation on their systems.) All cellular activations, whether at a company store, a kiosk, a reseller, online, or over the phone, are processed through the carrier's computer-based activation system, which has access to all these serial numbers. The carriers will not activate service for one person on a device that belongs to another. There is little point in attempting to activate a lost or stolen phone, since second-hand phones are inexpensive. Most customers on contract plans get a new device every two years or so, so there are millions of unused phones out there to be had. And for signing up on a new 2-year contract, the carrier will give you a phone for "free." ("Free" meaning in exchange for your agreement to pay a set monthly plan cost for 2 years or pay a substantial penalty for an early termination.)

No, once a phone is put on the lost or stolen list, it can not be activated. Only the original account holder can get the phone removed from that list.

No when the phone its reported stolen they will put a lock on the phone . But if they don't put the lock on there they will trace a phone then you go to jail
