yes
it is filled in the overflow tank. the cougar has a sealed system and there is no radiator cap like typical cares
it's not an x. it's a picture of a fan. it's for your coolant. add some.
use a funnel and add it to the dipstick tube
There is no such thing as Air Conditioning coolant.
You can find the 1997 Mercury Cougar low pressure port on top of the air conditioner compressor. The low pressure port will have a blue top.
Mix pure water (Distilled is best and cheapest.) with antifreeze in equal quantities and add directly to the coolant reservoir. Top off till a little over the max line to ensure you don't get low coolant light.
The reservoir on my 2000 Cougar is behind the front passenger strut tower, it should be the same on your 2001, they are the same car under the hood.
The van comes equipped and ready for a cd changer IF you want to add it. You have to purchase it separately. I was going crazy looking for it as well, but if it has it, then it would be in the front center console where the cup holder is and the ashtray. I'm guessing it would be located in place of the storage compartment all the way at the bottom of the console. it is it ready to be you with a cd players but since it is an optional thing when it was brand new, how are probably didn't add it when it was purchased
No, unfortunately you can't. I wish it did, though. Apparently Lincoln didn't add a CD changer that played mp3 files until the 2007 model.
Through the schrader valve on the low pressure side.
This is one small problem with this generation Cougar, is that many of the low coolant sensors give false readings, saying that the tank is low when it is in fact, at the MAX line. To correct this, you can safely add coolant about .5"-1" above the MAX line without the reservoir overflowing when the engine get's hot.
i have a stat changer add me xxsuckitzxx
