This is a electronically controlled valve body there is a procedure for checking circuits and shift solenoids. It could be a simple as a bad connection but I'm not sure what your exact problem is.The powertrain control module should be scanned for fault codes, and circuits tested to make a proper diagnoses. You can purchase a code reader and a good transmission manual , but this is a complicated procedure. If you don't feel up to it take it to a trusted shop to have it diagnosed.
the maintance manual tells you to adjust the bands each time you change the transmission filter, but does not tell you how. the bands should be on inside of pan.
