If referring to the screen backlight, there is an option to modify how long it stays active. To access this setting, tap Settings. Then, tap General followed by Auto-Lock. The default time is 1 minute to save battery life but it can be adjusted up to 5 minutes. If you don't want the backlight to turn off at all, select Never.
Note: The more time for screen to lit you choose more it will affect talk, standby, and data times.
