Yes you can unjailbreak your iPhone by connecting it to iTunes and doing a restore. That will set it back to like it was when it came from the factory.
You have to hook your iPhone up to the computer you last synchronized it with otherwise it won't restore.
If you want to restore your iPhone plug it into the computer, open iTunes and click the restore button. You will lose everything if you don't chose the correct backup.
Simple, plug into iTunes, restore to factory settings.

It depends on if you have any problem with the phone, like battery problem, not working to charge etc. Then you should restore the iphone. If you don't have any issues like these then it's enough to restore your iPhone at least once a year.
Restore the iPod. Plug it into iTunes, and then go to the iPod menu. There should be a restore button. If this does not work, you may have to take it in to get it fixed because the incorrect jailbreaking (which is what you did) caused the iPod Touch to malfunction, and sometimes even a restore will not work.
Jail-breaking an iPhone is illegal, but jail-breaking an iPod Touch is not.
