You can always be sued - the question is - would they win? It depends on what the statement was. If it was a true statement and can be proven true - there is no real grounds for a law suit. If the statement was defamatory, you could be sued for slander, but the definition is really broad. Bottom line is that someone has to prove they actually HAVE a reputation to harm and that it was harmed in some irreparable way before they could win anything. Most of the time - it's not even worth the effort. Assuming it's not Bill Gates or some sort of politician, I doubt you have anything to worry about.
